BMS Students’ Industrial Visit to Khaje Khanm Diary

On the 13th of October 2024, Senior students of the Biomedical Science department,   visited Khaje Khanm Dairy Facility,  located in Shakha Swr/Sulaymaniyah. The visit aimed to provide insights into the  operations of the dairy industry, acquire knowledge on Quality aspects, explore  modern practices, and understand the challenges faced by dairy farmers. This visit is aimed to enhance the learning abilities of the students in the aspect of Quality control and Quality assurance of the food products that reach the market for human consumption. The key activities during the visit were focused on the Milking process, the product processing aspects and estimating the quality of the product before it is marketed.

The experts at the industry have briefed the students about the sustainability practices, market trends, challenges and solutions pertaining to quality maintenance. The visit was successful in rendering the enhanced learning, networking opportunities and quality practices followed in the food industries. This industrial visit was conducted as a part of the course learning under the directive of Dr. Noel Vinay Thomas, supervised by Dr. Samson Israel and co-supervised by Ms. Rezhna Ramadhan. The alumni of MLS department, Mr. Lezan Gazi Baiz has been instrumental in coordinating this industrial trip.
